Who we are.

The F.A.B.P.H. is an association of plastic modelers in Brazil and Argentina. Does not have borders. Our goal is to promote and publicize the modeling hobby, and to make friends regardless of the area of modeling interest or scale.

F.A.B.P.H. is affiliated by common interest with member groups estabilished in other nations in accordance with the principles of the founding organizations of the International
Plastic Modelers Society located in the United States of America. Thus F.A.B.P.H is member of Chapter XIII of the International Plastic Model Society of the United States of America - IPMS USA.

Specifically, besides the customary contests for plastic modelers, F.A.B.P.H. hás given simple service to modelers and spreading interest in modeling across borders, pioneering an effort to unite all countries under the flag of modelling, and pioneering the use of the internet in voting in international events, opening a window on the hobby through events called, “View F.A.B.P.H.” in which the club sets up displays in public spaces such as
Shopping Centers and others. We have reached 60,000 visitors in a single day in one of such displays last Model Day. F.A.B.P.H. uses awards two trophies, one called the “Santos Dumont Cup” for civil aviation
subjects, and the other called the “Jorge Newbery Cup” for military aviation models.

F.A.B.P.H. also is comprised of 10 modeling “forums” in different countries, united by our
passion for modeling, regardless of the language differences, creating bonds of friendship, without concern for borders or different ideologies.

F.A.B.P.H. has incorporated a “popular” vote” in contests. Women and children are now
included with full participation. On-line voting for “Best Model” in each category has also been introduced.

F.A.B.P.H. has organized participation in four main events in 2007, some requiring that the models travel some 7,000 kilometers to get to the host city. The F.A.B.P.H. Command Post is in charge of the transportation of the models and the return of these models. Modelers trust F.A.B.P.H. to take care of all of these issues.

F.A.B.P.H. also promotes research efforts by the authorship of historical monographs. Also
our website features articles about visits for research purposes, such as those made to Argentine Air Force Museum and Brazilian Air Force air base, in January and March 2007. Pictures of the events are on our webpage.

F.A.B.P.H. has a library of some 200 volumes of military history and of modeling. These
publications are written in Portuguese, Spanish, and English. Members can check out thesepublications at no cost for up to fifteen days. F.A.B.P.H. has made reciprocal agreements with other IPMS clubs and clubs in Latin America
for the exchange of club banners and the encouragement of reciprocal participation in club events. We have collaborated in the establishment of other IPMS clubs such as Pernambco and
Northeast Brazil. We maintain excellent relations with other Latin American clubs andregularly correspond with them. These include clubs in Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Brazil,Chile, Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Spain, Italy England, and the USA, and we use our webpage as the command post for this communication.

We hope to have satisfactorily illustrated the activities that F.A.B.P.H. has developed in
its first two years of existence. THANKS to all and good plastics!
